Beautiful day again, we are off to Ambleside via Loughrigg Terrace and return via Rydal Hall. The views are really wonderful…… However I can’t hold back on my

disappointment that the meddlers, having finished the destruction of the mountain paths are now at a loss for  something to do, so they have now turned their attention to

the rest of the Paths in the Lake District. Yes it does allow access to all, but at the cost of an adventure….Why should everything be like going down to the shops. No walking boots required here any more, you could do parts of this walk in carpet slippers.

On passing a vehicle used for this sanitisation, I ignore the urge to let its tyres down. We quickly walk on to our favourite bench to have a coffee and look over Rydal Water. Before venturing on to Ambleside via the Park.

We walk a mile further along the road, to have lunch in Borrans Park and choose a bench with a view of Lake Windermere. The sun is high in the sky as we sit to drink a cup of tea. Several boats are out on the water and a few

tourists pass by on the way to the ferry. After lunch we follow the path round to the ferry, passing ducks and swans being fed by tourists sitting in the cafe enjoying the sun. Its a 4 mile walk back along the once rocky path

to Grasmere. The pacifiers have been at work here too, levelling and sanitising out all the lumps and bumps, or am I just getting old………? We stop at the tea shop at Rydal Hall for a short break, before walking the last mile back to Wood Close.
